Sculpture „Gediminas“
Edvardas Bielokopitovas – an author of the sculpture. Artist, musician and folk craftsman from Baisogala. He is mostly interested in history and particularly heraldry. There is a monument of his „Bookbinder“ in Baisogala. Edvardas is a leader of young wood-carvers‘ group in Pakiršinys.
After the death of Grand Duke Vytenis, his brother Gediminas rose to power as the new ruler of Lithuania. The Grand Duke Gediminas laid the foundations of the state's expansion while sometimes referred as the "true" state founder. He is also regarded as a founder of Vilnius, the modern capital of Lithuania. Sculptor Edmundas Bielokopitovas wanted to immortalise the greatness and courage of Lithuanian nation.
