The first chapel was loaded into a pine tree in the second half of the 19th century, when a local resident Anelė Vaicekauskienė, having spared the crossed pine forest, bought out one impressive tree, thus saving it. Since then, she, her children and her grandchildren have been caring for pine trees, constantly replacing rotten chapels.
